Baena on the Valverde incident: ‘There are lies that hurt more than punches’
Alex Baena again referred to the Federico Valverde incident with a post on social media, stressing that what those close to the Real Madrid Uruguayan midfielder are claiming are lies.
Alex Baena following the complaint he filed against Federico Valverde for attacking him after Real Madrid’s game against Villarreal in the Bernabeu car park.
The Spain midfielder denied he made an inappropriate remark about the Uruguayan midfielder’s unborn child and that it was a lie, while also citing the threats he and his family have received against his life.
“Last Saturday I was attacked by a colleague at the end of the game against Real Madrid. After the incident, some statements are said to have been made by those close to him, saying that I would have wished for the pain of a relative. Then, and how could it be otherwise, no evidence was published to prove the events attributed to me.
A bad moment was used to justify aggression. There are lies that hurt more than punches. The damage done to my family is irreparable and unjustified: threats, insults and even personal messages “wishing” my family dead.
I filed a complaint with the police yesterday. Let the judiciary do their job. Now my only goal is to focus on my job and help my team‘ Alex Baena wrote in his lengthy message.
