La Liga: Atletico drop Espanyol, Betis miss out on Champions League

Espanyol failed to upset Atletico in Barcelona and edged ever closer to relegation from La Liga. Getafe beat Betis in Andalusia and jumped to the rescue, eliminating the ‘Verdiblancos’ from the Champions League.

THE Espanol fell three goals behind against Atlético, managed to equalize 3-3 in Barcelona for La Liga round 36 but the point isn’t enough to take them out of the relegation zone.
