Guidogan signed with Barcelona for 2+1 years
After seven magical years at Manchester City and winning the title, Ilkay Guttogan has opened a new chapter in his career as the German midfielder has signed a two-year contract with Barcelona with an option for a further year.
The Premier League and Manchester City have propelled Ilkay Gundogan’s career for the past seven years and now he’s ready for a new big challenge in his career. This is Barcelona where the Germany international makes the decision to say goodbye to the Citizens and the Blaugrana convince him to accept their offer.
The agreement between the two sides was finalized in the last 24 hours and all that was left was to sign the signatures, which they did. Gintogan successfully passed the medical examination in Munich and then signed a two-year contract with an option to extend it by a third year.
In fact, the Catalan club’s management saw that the Spanish league gave them the green light to transfer, meaning that not only is the deal final but the 32-year-old is duly registered as a new signing with the side and is eligible to participate.
As revealed by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Guidogan’s contract with Barcelona includes a €500m release clause.
