Aspas on refereeing at Real: “The only thing missing was the fourth penalty to take it yourself”
The three penalties Real won against Thelta angered Iago Aspas, with the Galithians striker stating among other things that the referee gave the impression he cared how Benzema would score a hat-trick.
Two weeks after the home defeat (4-0) against Barcelona, Real were called up by Carlo Ancelotti to respond to Vigo, to have some fun and put the murmurs behind them.
She didn’t, despite winning 2-1 in ‘Balaidos’, as Thelta not only looked the La Liga champions in the eye but protested the final score in the final.
The cause of the three penalties won by the Merengues, which were the subject of commentary in Spain (all executed by Benzema, taking aim at two of them), with the one who stole the show being Iago Aspas due to the attack , which he unleashed on the match’s referee, Gonthaleth Fuertes:
“There was only a fourth penalty left to take it myself. It seemed like the referee wanted Benzema to score a hat-trick.” stressed Aspas, although the veteran Thelta forward congratulated Courtois on his performance:
“I believed in a foul I committed but Courtois is the best goalkeeper in the world. He’s 2 meters tall and has saved Real on several occasions. We should congratulate him.”
