Barcelona: The agreement with Spotify has been approved by the club’s members
The formal part of the Barcelona-Spotify collaboration has been completed following the approval of the sponsorship by the club’s members.
The agreement between Barcelona has been formally finalized and Spotify after being approved by members of the Catalan club.
In concrete terms, the agreement ended with 625 yes, 49 no and 27 blank ballots from the association members and a hundred million deal was ratified.
The music streaming company will appear on the team jersey as the main sponsor instead of Rakuten starting next season and for four seasons for both men and women. In addition, it will be the main sponsor of the team’s coaching appearances for the next three seasons.
However, the sponsorship of the two sides does not stop there. For the first time in its history, Camp Nou will receive a sponsor and will be renamed Spotify Camp Nou.
The renaming will not take place next season, but after Espai Barça’s renovation of the stadium. According to the plan, the club will play in the new headquarters with a new name in the 2024/2025 season.
The Swedish giants have agreed to give 280,000,000 euros for the entire sponsorship deal, money that is proving to be a savior for the club to get out of the financial slump.
Laporta emphasized in his speech that “it is the best sponsorship deal for the shirt in the club’s history”.
