Kepa: “Casillas was one of my idols, Real are king of the Champions League”
Kepa described his move to Real as the best moment of his career. The Spanish goalkeeper wished Courtois a speedy recovery during his presentation and expressed his hope of staying at Madrid after his loan end.
Thibaut Courtois was unlucky enough to suffer a cruciate ligament rupture and that has given Kepa a huge opportunity: Real brought him in to fill the Belgian goalkeeper’s vacancy and agreed a deal with Chelsea to keep him in shape for a while to commit to a loan.
The announcement of the agreement came on Monday, while on Tuesday afternoon (15/8) it was presented by Florentino Perez, whereby the Spaniard – for whom Chelsea paid 80 million euros to include him in their team a few years ago – did not want to hide his happiness and adores his new team.
“Thank you to the President, the coaches, my family, my representatives and everyone who made this deal possible. It’s the best moment of my career, I’m ready to play for Real.”
