Gareth Bale is seriously considering retiring from the end of the season if Wales do not qualify for the World Cup finals, according to an Athletic article.

Gareth Bale has entered the final year of his contract with Real Madrid, with the Merengues wanting to leave him to save money on signing Killian Ebape, who will also be replaced by Paris Saint-Germain.

However, an article in Athletic said that Bale is expected to retire from football if Wales fail to qualify for the final stages of the World Cup in Qatar. The World Cup will run from November 21 to December 18, so Bale has to be ready to help his team.

If Wales finally fits, Bale will find a team that isn’t necessarily of the highest level just to get the fitness level they want.

It is worth remembering that Wales will claim one of the three tickets as part of the European Zone blocking process. Its first opponent is Austria, while if they qualify they will have to win the pair’s winner Scotland-Wales to validate the ticket to the finals of the tournament.
