Pacetta took over Villarreal, Panathinaikos’ Europa League rivals
Villarreal announced the signing of Paceta for the bench. The 55-year-old Spanish coach agreed to the Yellow Submarine until the end of the year.
Villarreal ultimately did not come to an agreement with Raul Gonzalez, but instead announced the signing of Paceta. The 55-year-old Spanish coach was chosen by management to replace Quique Setien, who was sacked following the Yellow Submarine’s poor start.
The agreement between both sides calls for taking over the team by the end of the year. The debut will be in the La Liga game against Almeria on September 17th, while the game against Panathinaikos at OAKA will follow in the premiere of the Europa League groups.
