Real – Getafe 2-0: On the way to the title

Karim Benzema didn’t score, but that was no problem for Real against Getafe as Carlo Ancelotti’s side prevailed 2-0 through goals from Vinicius and Bathketh, leaving Sevilla 12 points behind.

Karim Benzema has been the definition of the ‘hot’ striker lately as he was involved in Real’s last 11 goals (10 goals + 1 assist) ahead of the league game against Getafe.

In the Mini Madrid derby, the leader of the meringue strike line didn’t have to step forward and pull the chestnuts out of the fire as the difference in capacity between the two teams was huge, with Carlo Ancelotti’s team scoring a comfortable 2-0 in the context of the 31st .La Liga game with Kazemiro and Bathket scoring, assisted by Vinicius and Rodrigo respectively.

In the final of the game, Real counted 26 finals (8 at home) against 8 of their compatriots (none at home), with the most impressive fact being the Merengues’ 13 consecutive home wins against Getafe, who last went with the win as a guest in the year 2008.

The game

Real came into the game looking heavily for the quick goal that would put them in the driver’s seat from a young age, with Getafe resisting the pressure and Soria’s best moment of that period being his stable intervention on a Vinicius shot through the wide area in 20′ (preceded by an extraordinary individual energy from the Brazilian).

However, the Meringues’ aggressive monologue continued and the goal came perfectly. Vinicius made a fantastic cross with the outside of his right foot at the level of the small area, the ball passing over Benzema but a follower followed by Kazemiro who sent the ball into the net with a fish head (1-0) a gift from his compatriot .

This was Kazemiro’s first goal of the year, with Vinicius registering 12 assists in all competitions and Real scoring their first goal in 35 days without the participation of their leader Karim Benzema.

In the final of the first part, Carlo Ancelotti’s side were in complete control, counting 12 finals (5 at home) against only 2 of their opponents (none at home) and keeping the ball at an impressive 70% despite not having their turf Luca Montris and Tony Kroos.

The pattern in the second half was the same and unchanged, with Real camping out outside their compatriot’s frames and doggedly awaiting the second goal. Marcelo (57′) and Valverde (64′) had two dangerous shots that were essentially the harbinger of the 2-0 written in 68′.

Rodrigo and Lucas Watketh combined perfectly, letting Getafe’s defenders “fool around” with the Spaniard in a shooting position in the penalty area, delivering the ball to the right corner of Soria’s goal with a flawless play with the left touchline (2-0) .

That goal took the fear out of Ancelotti, his players and Real fans, which was evident in his decision to withdraw Benzema 74′ (he was adored three days after his appearance against Chelsea) and throw Bale in his place (others applauded and others disapproved) of giving him his first minutes in an official Meringue home game since February 2020.

The final minutes were totally procedural and that gave Getafe the courage to break out of their shell, taking their first chance in 89′ and having a shot at the crossbar in 90′ to fail to get the consolation goal for Real another Victory on the way back to the Spanish throne.

REAL: Courtois, Bathketh, Militao, Alaba (86′ Nacho), Marcelo, Valverde, Kazemiro (75′ Thebagios), Camavinga, Rodrigo, Benzema (74′ Bale), Vinicius (83′ Asensio)

GETAFE: Soria, Suarez, Cuenca (83′ Campaco), Dakonam, Mitrovic, Olivera, Alenia (46′ Rodrεςguez), Maksimovi ((86′ Giokuslu), Villar (74′ Luis), Unal, Mayoral (46′ Ramires)

Real Madrid have 20-year-old Robert Renan on their shortlist for central defense

Real Madrid have suffered a major blow to their central defense due to injuries and one of the things they have on their list ahead of January is the loan of 20-year-old Brazilian central defender Robert Renan from Zenit.

After the serious injuries to David Alaba and Ender Militao, Real Madrid have entered the transfer market to sign a central defender.

One of the cases that the Merengues are considering, according to AS, is 20-year-old Brazilian central defender Robert Renan, who plays for Zenit St. Petersburg. Madrid initially wants to bring him in with a loan and a purchase option for next summer.

The young footballer is exactly the right person to strengthen the Merengues as he is left-footed and can develop into a very good footballer. This particular formula would also satisfy Zenit, but there is a non-football problem.

Groups linked to the Russian state continue to face sanctions from the European Union (and the US) over the military invasion of Ukraine. Specifically, teams cannot receive an amount over 108,000 euros.

Zenit is owned by Gazprom, one of the most famous oil companies (in the world) controlled by the Russian state.

Barcelona is threatened with exclusion from the new Champions League because of FFP

According to the German newspaper “Die Welt”, Barcelona is threatened with exclusion from the new Champions League due to violations of Financial Fair Play. However, the Catalans are not aware of the specific risk.

A few hours after the legal recognition before the Court of Justice of the European Union of the European Super League, a project that Barcelona and Real Madrid have “operated” from the beginning until today, the Blaugrana are in adventure.

A publication by German newspaper Die Welt reports that the Catalans are at risk of being banned from the new Champions League (for up to three years) due to Financial Fair Play violations. Barcelona announced gigantic profits (a whopping 304 million euros), but according to the report, UEFA will audit the finances as the income must only come from “football activities”.

Barcelona reported on its balance sheet revenue from “Barca Studios”, the project that manages the team’s audiovisual material, such as the team’s official channel (Barca TV).

Sources in Barcelona management told Mundo Deportivo that they were unaware of the scenario in question.
