Yamal extended with Barcelona until 2026, the clause in the contract is 1 billion
Lamine Yamal is one of the new hot names in Barcelona’s squad and the Catalans have ensured that he is tied to a new contract until 2026 by including a €1 billion release clause in his contract.
Lamine Yamal is only 16 years old, but he has already managed to wear the Barcelona jersey ten times in official matches and he can be proud of being the youngest player to ever play for the Blaugrana (15 years, 9 months, 16 days) as well as being the second youngest player to ever play in the Champions League (16 years and 68 months, only behind Yussuf Mukoko) and the youngest player to ever play and score for the Spanish national team.
The Spanish winger’s prospects are great and the people at Barca were far from willing to let him slip through the hands of an ambitious suitor in order to tie him to Catalonia.
This happened through a new contract that saw the 16-year-old go to the club offices on Monday (10/02) extending his partnership with the club until 2026, an appointment declared as “present” by the president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, the first vice president, Rafa Juste, the manager in charge of the infrastructure departments, Juan Soler and the sports director Deco.
In fact, with this contract that the Catalan club signed with him, they ensured that he would drive away any other team that had a good eye on him, as there was a €1 billion release clause in his contract.
