Antoine Griezmann made Atletico a potential front-runner after his hat-trick in Vigo led them to victory 3-0 on her Want for Matchday 10, taking them to 2nd place in La Liga, three points ahead of Real but with a game in hand.
The French striker started his show in the 29th minute with a penalty that Alvaro Morata won. During this phase, the home team’s goalkeeper, Ivan Villar, was also sent off, which meant that they continued with one less player.
The game developed into a one-man show in which the “Rojiblancos” had the upper hand, but the Galicians were also threatening. Within six minutes of the 2nd half, Griezmann scored two more goals and “cleaned up” the win for Diego Simeone’s team.
