Leonardo for Ebape: ‘Real are sure they will take him for three years’
Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo wanted to poke fun at Real when asked about rumors that Killian Ebape is set to join Madrid, stressing that the Madrilenians have been sure of getting him for the past three years.
The coronation was (arithmetically) a few days too late, but Paris Saint-Germain have been French champions for the 10th time in their history since Saturday (April 23) despite the 1-1 draw against Lens.
Sentiment in Paris after winning the championship is upbeat and remains optimistic about Killian Ebape’s contract extension.
Although the Parisians are of course still in negotiations with the 23-year-old, Real are still waiting, with the Spaniards considering his move to Madrid almost at the end of the season.
Wanting to play on their confidence, Paris sporting director Leonardo stressed in a related question after the game’s final:
“In Madrid they have been sure for three years that Killian Ebape will end up at Real. Are you very sure about that?” he laughed on Sky Sports Italia, while speaking to Canal + he said:
“To be honest, there were always discussions. There is no “special” meeting in Doha. Killian speaks to us and we are in constant contact. I think he’s still concerned. I think there’s a chance he’ll stay. He can go, but he’s thinking about it.”
