Pacetta is in a fix, Villarreal sees Marthelino as his successor
Pacetta finds himself in a difficult position following Villarreal’s loss to Bilbao, with Marthelino top of the list of Panathinaikos rivals to replace the Spanish coach.
Villarreal are 13th in La Liga after their home defeat to Bilbao, with rival Panathinaikos coach Paceta on the ropes.
According to a publication by the Spanish Relevo, the management of the Spanish team is actually considering ending the relationship with the 55-year-old technician before the end of the season, when his contract expires.
Marthelino, who did not agree on another team after leaving Marseille, appears to be the ideal successor to Pacetta.
We remind you that Marthelino left the Marseille bank last September and his term lasted only a few months.
The 58-year-old coach took over the team last June in place of Igor Tudor, but Marseille’s start to the season was not ideal.
The exclusion of Panathinaikos from the Champions League qualification as well as the two wins in the first five games of the French championship put Marthelinos in a difficult position.
