Finally, Diego Alonso from Seville, candidate Diego Martinez
Sevilla were beaten 3-0 by Getafe and Diego Alonso was released from the Andalusians’ bench. According to Spanish media, Diego Martinez is a candidate.
Getafe stormed past Ramon Sanchez Pitjuan to beat struggling Sevilla 3-0. A few moments later, the Andalusian team announced the end of Diego Alonso on the bench.
Sevilla sporting director Victor Horta said: “From tomorrow we will try to hire a new coach as quickly as possible.”
The first names can already be heard in Spain. According to national media, one of them belongs to former Olympiacos coach Diego Martinez, who is looking for a new professional home. Also candidates for the day after Seville are Javi Gratia and Quique Flores.
Diego Alonso has been on the Sevilla bench since October 10, 2023. In the 13 games he played as coach of the Andalusian team, he achieved two wins, five draws and six defeats.
