Atlético Madrid had the three points in hand against Getafe, but the guests secured the point of the draw with two goals in the final. Sevilla won after ten games in La Liga and breathed a sigh of relief.

Atletico stumbled in their second consecutive La Liga game as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Getafe at the Wanda Metropolitano. The visitors were the ones who generally pushed hard enough to get something out of the game, and in the end they did, against Atlético, who played with ten men from the 38th minute due to Savic’s sending off.

Xolo Simeone’s team took the lead shortly before half-time in the 44th minute through Griezmann and an assist from Riquelme and the score was 1-0 at halftime.

Getafe responded in the 53rd minute with Borja Mayoral, but ten minutes later the Rojiblancos took the lead again when Morata made it 2-1 in the 63rd minute. Six minutes later, Griezmann made it 3-1 with a well-timed penalty and scored 173 goals, overtaking Luis Aragonés as the club’s all-time top goalscorer.

Getafe fought back to equalize in the 86th minute through Oscar Rodriguez and completed the job in the 90+3 minute with a well-timed penalty from Mayoral.

Sevilla returned to winning ways after ten league games

Sevilla secured their first treble since September 26 in La Liga with a 3-0 win at Granada’s Los Carmenes on Quique Sanchez Flores’ debut.

The Andalusians started the game strongly and took the lead through Pedrosa in the 23rd minute, while Ocampos increased the score to 2-0 nine minutes later. In the second half, he quickly scored a goal with Ramos in the 49th minute and celebrated in the final.

With these three points they reached 16th place and remained low in the table, while Granada is eight points below the relegation zone.
