Ancelotti: “The decision on the European Super League is important for football”

Carlo Ancelotti argued that the court’s decision to allow the creation of the competition without approval from FIFA and UEFA could be a good step for everyone involved in football.

The announcement of the European Court of Justice’s decision on the possibility of third parties to create their own football competitions without the consent of FIFA and UEFA was a victory for the teams that, two years ago, with Barcelona and Real, had pushed for the creation of the European Super League in recognition of the need to to publicly support the founding of a new league.

This fact led to an immediate placement by all the sport’s bodies in The vast majority of them supported the two established associations, while the two giants of Spanish football have started to gain more allies.

In fact, a few hours after Florentino Perez’s public statement welcoming the court’s decision, Carlo Ancelotti also took a stand, speaking at the end of Real’s victorious game against Alaves of a decision that will benefit the king of sport.

“The European Super League? The court decision is important for football. Some clubs are not convinced, but I think this can be positive for everyone.”

Time will tell if this is a good thing,” emphasized the Italian coach, who said of Real’s escape with victory in the 90+2 minute through Lucas Bathketh’s goal:

“The game was difficult as there were only 10 players left in the second half. Everyone thought we would lose points.”
