Referring to Usman Dembele’s case, Xavi claimed that the 24-year-old doesn’t make the decision on an extension and Barcelona can’t wait for him any longer.

Barcelona’s patience with Usman Dembele is exhausted as the 24-year-old winger’s oligarchy disrupts the team who, according to Catalan reports, had given him 48 hours to react to the extension proposal he accepted.

The “Blaugrana” Haven’t received a definitive positive or negative response from Dembele or his agent, with Xavi stressing in the press conference ahead of the Copa del Rey game against Athletic (20/1) that the negotiations have lasted for five months. At the same time, he made it clear that Barcelona can’t wait for the France international any longer.

“Usman and I are in a complicated and difficult situation. The club has decided that if they don’t renew, a solution must be found. Mateu (Alemanni, CEO) has been in talks with his representative for five months. Renewal or one solution must be found. It is a complicated situation.

I was very honest with him, it’s not comfortable for anyone. You have to look at the club’s interests and decide what’s best for the whole. We can not wait anymore.”

Either he must renew himself, or he must seek a way out. There are no other solutions. I was very clear with Usman. He wants to extend but he doesn’t make the decision and as a club we have to get one. Too bad, because in football he knows the work that is there. He played every possible minute and has the upper hand.” said the Catalan coach.
