De Jong: ‘I was sad when they said they were proud to lose to Real, we are Barcelona’
Frankie de Jong expressed his disappointment at the feeling of pride in the Barcelona dressing room after the recent defeat by Real for the Spanish Super Cup.
Frankie De Jong was the golden goalscorer that redeemed Barcelona against Alaves for La Liga’s 22nd game, however, in his post-match statements the Dutch midfielder recalled losing to Real for the Spanish Super Cup.
The Dutch midfielder stressed he was sad that there was a happy atmosphere in the dressing room for the side’s performance, something that shouldn’t have existed as they were beaten against the hated opponent.
“I was very sad when they said they were proud after losing to Real. We are Barcelona. I can improve my game, although it wasn’t disastrous. Today (Sunday 1/23) I scored and they will say I played well but it’s not what it should be“, the Dutch midfielder mentioned, among other things, the defeat against Real.
