Bekhti Al-Khelaifi on Real: ‘I don’t understand why they’re celebrating in the Champions League because they wanted the Super League’
Nasser Al-Khelaifi threw his “sympathy” at Real and stressed that it is contradictory to openly oppose the Champions League and support the European Super League while celebrating victories in them.
Real already have two wins against Celtic and Leipzig in the Champions League groups and Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has thrown his punches.
During the ECA meeting in Istanbul, Kelaifi commented on the contradiction Madrid have found themselves in, stressing that on the one hand they have been celebrating their victories in the top club competition and on the other hand they have opposed it by creating the European Super League.
“It strikes me as very strange that Real Madrid are celebrating their Champions League win.
We’re talking about the best inter-club competition in the world, but it’s really strange that they first openly oppose it and then enjoy, win and even celebrate their participation. Yeah, it’s pretty impressive, honestly.” said the President of Paris.
