Lyon – Nis 2-0: The ‘Gon’ are absolutely dominant, only one Final Nikaiotes

Lyon limited Nis to just one last try and proved they can catch third place in Ligue 1 with a 2-0 win in Grupama.

THAT Nis came from a home loss to struggling Clermont and a humiliation at Marseille, the team with which it claims 2nd place in the cup. The roller coaster ride continued after taking a good lesson at Grupama where Lyon prevailed 2-0 for the 24th Ligue 1 game against a side that only had one last try.

The hosts opened the scoring with a Musa Dembele penalty in the 8th minute after a replay, with Walter Benitez blocking the first try (although Lucas Paketa rebounded). The ball was always in the hands of Peter Bosch’s players, who have been at their best this season and missed scoring chances.

Early in the second half, Carl Toko Ekampi made it 2-0 for Lyon. Nis needed 76 minutes of play to make his first last try, a try from Jordan Lotomba that didn’t bother Anthony Lopez. There was no second in one of Lyon’s most dominant games in a long time.
