Paris: Ebape is urged to stay by Macron and Sarkozy
French President Emanuel Macron, like his predecessor Nicolas Sarkozy, have approached Killian Ebape to persuade him to stay in the country and in Paris.
Killian Ebape made one of the best games of the season against Real and gave Paris the qualification lead from the round of 16 of the Champions League with his goal. With another read, he’s left the future of his…next team bleak as he hasn’t hid his desire to wear the “meringue” jersey at some point in his career.
His contract with the French expires in the summer and he has already established communication bridges with Real. Bridges demolished along with the draw of the two teams in the round of 16, so there is not even a suspicion of the performance of one side or the other.
Paris took the opportunity of this communication interruption and already made two extension proposals to the 23-year-old international, which Ebape rejected. Although he is not completely opposed to remaining in the “Parc des Princes”, he does not want to do so for many years and so, according to French journalists, he is only open to an extension of 1-2 seasons.
The rejection of a contract worth 45 million euros a year reduces the arms in the ‘quiver’ of the Parisians, who are ordered by Qatar to keep Ebape in the team by any means necessary. That’s why they go other ways that have nothing to do with money.
As the Spanish El Mundo reported on Thursday, French President Emanuel Macron is a tool that the Parisian Ebape want to use to convince them to stay in the capital. Macron is said to have already spoken to the world champions with the national team, his predecessor Nicolas Sarkozy is said to have done the same.
All of this is explained by the close ties that France has with Qatar, largely reflected in the purchase of Paris by QSI, Qatar’s business arm, as well as the acceptance of the 2022 World Cup with the valuable contribution – among others – of Sarkozy.
However, not all French forces are in favor of Ebape staying in Paris. According to the same publication, Renault has already contacted Real to speculate about the possibility of becoming the official partner of the Spaniards instead of Audi. Renault’s Formula 1 subsidiary Alpine already has Fernando Alonso in its ranks, a deal that will be leverage to get the deal they want when Ebape eventually reaches the Santiago Bernabeu.
