France suspends the broadcast of Ligue 1 matches in Russia
The French Professional Football Federation (LFP) has decided to suspend the broadcast of Ligue 1 matches in Russia because of the war in Ukraine.
Russia’s decision to invade Ukraine last Thursday (February 24) put the country at a political, economic, social and sporting disadvantage in terms of the sanctions it is facing.
On Friday (March 4th), the French Professional Football Association (LFP) decided to suspend the broadcast of Ligue 1 matches in Russia due to the war.
“LFP has decided to suspend the broadcasting contract of Ligue 1 in Russia on Match TV from today”, reports the league in the press release.
We remind you that FIFA and UEFA have already banned Russian teams, but also the country’s national team, from all international competitions.
