Strasbourg 1-0 Monaco: Took the lead in the European race
Strasbourg defeated Monaco 1-0 at home and took a comfortable lead in the race between the two teams for a European place in Ligue 1.
Strasbourg and Monaco gave a big game for the Ligue 1 European ‘tickets’, with the winner taking the lead for a good finish. These were the hosts in a game that will not be remembered but perhaps leaves the Monegasque side out.
An acrobatic goal from Alexander Tziko in the 23rd minute gave Julien Stefan’s side the lead, who didn’t have many chances but controlled the game against a rather apathetic side. The Monegasque started to take the lead in the second half, but the two good chances that came their way were converted in the end. Without a well-aimed shot, Philip Cleman’s players suffered just one defeat and stayed far enough away from the Champions League ranks.
THE Taso’s Donis found in its basic form reims for the first time in four months for the away game against aggravation, but was sent off in the 34th minute for covering by Bensan Manko (the phase was also controlled by the VAR). Despite this, Oscar García’s team maintained the lead they had achieved through Alexi Flip’s goal in the 24th minute and with the 1-0 has clinched a terrific win that pushes them decisively out of the relegation zone.
