The finals of the best leagues in the world have some winners, some losers and certainly some very important European tickets still to come and relegation.

There is still a week left until the end of the action in the European domestic competitions that follow the summer calendar, and already in the top 5 leagues the situation has become clear, as far as most places leading trophies, European cards or relegation are concerned .

Three of those were completed this weekend, one has been decided on many key positions and one will take another matchday to clarify.

The imposing Napoli defined Serie A

A reformed Napoli… celebrated in this year’s Serie A, excelled from the start, increased the deficit to even 20 points and won the first division without Diego Maradona a few weeks before the end.

In the shadow of the “Partenopei”, Inter, Lazio, Milan, Juventus, Roma and Atalanta fought a great battle for the top four. The first two beat them, Juventus believed they had done the same until they were penalized again with a 10-point deduction and are now fighting Milan for the final ticket. Those who don’t manage to do this will fight Roma and Atalanta for the two Europa League tickets, with the latter being content with the Europa Conference League.

In the relegation battle, Sampdoria and Cremonese looked lost for a long time, with Verona slowing down and now threatening Spezia. They are replaced by Frosinone, Genoa and the winner of the promotion play-offs, which leave Bari, Parma, Cagliari and Sudirol.

As for the Coppa Italia, the two teams that also participate in the European final (like Roma), Inter with Fiorentina and the Nerazzurri crossed swords to win the cup.

Barcelona’s return to the top of La Liga

Barcelona won La Liga after three disappointing years in Xavi’s first full season at the helm. He left Real (who are fighting for second place with Atlético) early and had no problems.

From one point the Merengues were more involved in the rest of the competitions, winning the Copa del Rey but losing to Barcelona in the Supercopa final.

Real Sociedad completed the Champions League top four by returning to the competition after four years, leaving Villarreal and Betis in the Europa League. For the Europa Conference League, there will be a big fight for the only ticket in the last game between Osasuna, Athletic, Girona, Rayo and Sevilla.

Elche’s relegation has been known for months, Espanyol followed on Sunday and the latest teams to be relegated will be Cadiz, Getafe, Valencia, Almeria, Celta and Valladolid. Granada and Las Palmas return to the division and Levante, Alaves, Eibar and Albacete will follow in the promotion playoffs.

The Premier League ended on Sunday with open fronts only for the Europa Conference League ticket and relegation. The title dispute was previously decided due to Erling Haaland’s 36 goals eclipsing Arsenal’s impressive display. Manchester City clinched the title, the Gunners returned to the Champions League, as did Newcastle, and Manchester United completed the top four.

Liverpool were eliminated from top club competition for the first time since 2016 and will feature in the Europa League groups alongside European debutants Brighton. The last ticket went to Aston Villa, which has also been celebrating its return to Europe via the Europa Conference League since 2011.

In terms of relegation, Southampton were eliminated early and Leeds and Leicester followed on the final day, with Everton rescuing and Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton (who beat Coventry on penalties in the €200,000,000 play-off) victorious.

In England, only the FA Cup final is pending between the two Manchester sides who have already won a trophy each (United won the League Cup in the final against Newcastle).

The Bundesliga thriller ended as usual for Bayern

Bayern became German champions for the eleventh time in a row, but this sentence does not describe what happened in the Bundesliga this year. Union and Freiburg were always ahead in the first round, Dortmund was outside the European places and yet the Westphalians were the absolute favorites for the title on the last day of the game until they spilled the milk against Mainz. Jamal Musiala’s 89th-minute goal gave Bayern a 2-1 win in Cologne and the right to lift the famous salad bowl, even if it wasn’t the original.

The classics teams, along with Leipzig and Union (debut), will represent the country in the Champions League after this year’s unsuccessful performance at the institution. Freiburg enters the Europa League groups, Leverkusen in the playoffs of the Europa Conference League.

The traditional live broadcast will also include Stuttgart Dino Mavropanos and be Thomas Castanara And against them will be the traditional Bundesliga team Hamburg, who, after an unbelievable comeback in added time from Heidenheim, were able to escape direct re-promotion after Darmstadt and are the 57th other team in the “big living rooms”. .

The last one is the DFB Cup between Leipzig and Eintracht, which decides on the last European Cup ticket. If the trophy lands in Frankfurt it will be the Europa League, if not it will be the Europa Conference League, again for Eintracht who are first runners-up with 8th place.

Paris made history in Ligue 1

Faced with another difficult league, Paris needed to reach Matchday 37 to mathematically secure the Ligue 1 title thanks to a home draw against Strasbourg. This title is historic as it is 11th and St Etienne is now 2nd with 10 championships since 1981.

Lance was Paris’ biggest challenger in the title race and finally managed to return to the group stage of the Champions League after two decades while Marseille stayed in qualifying.

Lille, Rennes and Monaco are vying for the only available Europa League ticket after the others went to French Cup winners Toulouse under Harry Tsingaras. Another team of them will get the only Europa Conference League ticket, with Lyon only having mathematical hopes of catching this year’s European move.

There is also a big fight for relegation, although three teams are already known to have been relegated. Troyes, Ajaccio and Angers have bowed out, but either Auxerre or Nantes will follow as the division will have 18 teams next year (which is why two from Le Havre, Bordeaux and Metz will be promoted).
