Neymar spoke about the criticism he has received about his personal life, his difficult time on the touchline due to injury, as well as Carlo Ancelotti and the opportunity to become Brazil’s coach.

Neymar spoke for the first time in a long time about everything that’s going on in his life, at an auction organized by his foundation in Praia Grande, near Santos.

The Brazilian, who was sidelined after ankle surgery on March 10, gave an interview to Brazilian broadcaster BandSports and stressed that long-term abstinence is difficult.

“It’s terrible to miss so many games or get injured. I love playing and being on the pitch so much. When that doesn’t happen in a game, it’s difficult. So imagine if it takes four to five months!”

It’s terrible. I miss. I was born to play football” said the 31-year-old and then referred to the criticism and comments he received about his private life.

“I never shirk my responsibilities. But on the contrary. I keep patting myself on the chest and saying, ‘Go on, you can attack me’. I know my talent, I know what I’m capable of. Football is not an individual sport.”

If it were individual, I would have already achieved all my goals, but that’s not the case. As for off-field criticism, I sometimes disagree because it’s about my personal life and I’m doing what I want.

At the same time, he mentioned his desire to return to Santos: “Of course I dream of playing in Santos again. I hope it can happen. But we’ll see, football is a box full of surprises.” He declared and played for the Brazil national team.

“I know it’s for the national team, Carlo Ancelotti is a priority. The President wants to count on him and we players want him too. I, Vinicius, Militao already know him, we know his greatness.”

Having him in the team will be very important. But nothing is confirmed yet. We hope that he will come to Brazil when his contract expires.”
