Vieira returns to Strasbourg
Patrick Vieira did not finish last season on the bench at Crystal Palace but is expected to return to action ahead of the new season and return to Strasbourg in France.
Last season proved to be a traumatic experience for Patrick Vieira. The 47-year-old French manager had to pay the price for Crystal Palace’s consecutive poor Premier League results and was on the verge of handing over to Roy Hodgson in March.
The London Eagles “didn’t believe” him, but neither did Chelsea’s owners, who had recently agreed to buy a majority stake in Strasbourg and are now apparently determined to complete the Vieira deal.
As reported by the BBC, it is most likely that on Sunday (07/02) there will be a final agreement between Strasbourg and the former Arsenal and Juventus player, who in turn will sign a three-year cooperation agreement and take over the position of Frederic Antonetti in the technical Management.
It should be noted that like Crystal Palace, Strasbourg also played with fervor last season, only to eventually save themselves in the final by finishing 15th in Ligue 1, five points above the relegation zone.
