Ligue 1
Finally out of Paris, Gaultier
Christophe Galtier has left the technical leadership of Paris since midday on Wednesday (5/7), with the French champions announcing the end of their collaboration with the 56-year-old coach.
The adventure of Christophe Gaultier in the technical leadership of Paris lasted only one year. The veteran French manager took charge of the Premier League in the summer of 2022 with a goal of guiding them to football’s promised land, falling short of the Champions League target early on and effectively leaving him despite winning the league.
Paris managers had long been searching for his successor and announced on Wednesday afternoon (07/05) the amicable divorce from Gaultier, who was caught in the maelstrom of the hurricane and faced allegations of racist behavior and the risk of a three-year prison sentence .
“At the end of the 2022-2023 season, Paris Saint-Germain and Christophe Gaultier decided to terminate their contracts.
The club would like to highlight his professionalism and commitment which allowed the Rouge & Bleu to win a historic eleventh French league title as well as a Super Cup.
He arrived in Paris on July 5, 2022 and firstly won the Champions Trophy with his team on July 31, 2022 by beating FC Nantes (4-0) in Tel Aviv.
A week later, with a 5-0 win in Clermont, the side took the lead in Ligue 1 from day one and never gave it up that season, in a first in French league history.
Paris won their eleventh Ligue 1 title under his leadership, becoming the most famous club in French league history.
The whole of Paris thanks Christophe Gaultier and his assistants Thierry Oleksiak and João Sacramento for the professionalism and commitment they have shown throughout the season and wishes them all the best for the rest of their careers.”it says in the corresponding message from Paris.
