Al Khelaifi: “Neymar is a Paris legend”
Paris President Nasser Al Khelaifi has dubbed Neymar a ‘legend’ at the club following his sale to Al Hilal.
Neymar left Paris after six years, 173 appearances, 118 goals and 77 assists after being sold to Al Hilal, it was announced on Tuesday.
The Brazilian superstar remains the most expensive transfer in world football history at €222,000,000 and after five league titles and a Champions League final, among others, French President Nasser Al Khelaifi bid farewell to the 31-year-old international with a statement.
“It is obviously difficult to say goodbye to a club legend that Neymar will remain forever. I will never forget the day he came to Paris and what he brought to the club and the project over those six years. We.” I’ve had great moments and Neymar will always be a part of our history. I want to thank him and his family. I wish Neymar all the best for the future and his next adventures.”
Neymar had a contract at Paris until 2025 but he asked to leave the club and the club didn’t stop him as the relationship between the two teams had long since broken down.
