Lyon reached an agreement with Grosso to succeed Blanc
Fabio Grosso overtook Gennaro Gattuso at the turn and everything seems to be the one who will take the technical lead of Lyon, replacing Laurent Blanc.
Laurent Blanc is a thing of the past from Lyon after management decided to show him the exit door due to his disastrous presence in the first four Ligue 1 games (the last with just 1 draw and 3 defeats) and the last two was delivered within 24 hours, the management of the French team is going through the procedures to find his replacement as quickly as possible.
At first, Gennaro Gattuso seemed to be the favorite to take over, which would put him back on the bench after a few months of absence and his divorce from Valencia, but the situation has changed and a compatriot has overtaken him in the corner, and that is he also ready to take the reins of the lions.
As French journalist Hugo Guillemet revealed, an agreement was reached between the Italian coach and the Lyon management late on Wednesday evening. Now the relevant documents must be prepared and the required signatures signed.
In fact, according to this report, the desire of the owner of the “Gons”, John Textor, played an important role in the choice of Grosso, with the former world champion coming from a two-year stint with the Italian national team (2006) on the bench of Frosinone, which he led to promotion to Serie A last year as champions of the second division.
