De Laurentiis: “Thank God Enrique went to Paris, look at the results there”
Aurelio de Laurentiis has confirmed that Napoli held talks with Luis Enrique over the summer and expressed his relief that he has finally landed in Paris.
Last summer, after the end of Luciano Spalletti’s tenure on the Napoli bench, the team was looking for his replacement and Luis Enrique was one of the main candidates to take over the position.
Finally, the Spanish coach, who left the Spanish national team in December, ended up in Paris, more precisely in Paris.
The president of the “Partenopei”, Aurelio de Laurentiis, admitted that he had spoken to Enrique and that there had been some discussions but they did not continue.
In fact, he did not fail to comment that this was a positive development since his tenure on the bench of the Parisians had not yet convinced. In 10 games he has achieved five wins, three draws and two losses.
“I spoke to several coaches in the summer. One of them was Thiago Motta, but he didn’t want to. I also called Luis Enrique and thank God he went to Paris, look at the results he is getting there. “He didn’t do it.” even convinced me in the conversation we had for three days,” said the strong man from Napoli, among other things.
