Marseille president Pablo Longoria expressed anger at Marseille fans throwing stones at the Lyon coach, stressing that a group of insensitive people had spoiled a beautiful match that 65,000 people had expected in the stadium.

Marseille’s clash with Lyon at the Velodrome on Sunday (October 29) was postponed after the away team’s coaches were attacked before their arrival at the stadium, leaving Fabio Grosso among others injured.

Marseille President Pablo Longoria expressed anger over the incident, stressing that it was unacceptable for such incidents to happen and calling those involved in the attack “insensitive.”

“For me this is unacceptable. It’s unthinkable, unacceptable, it can’t happen to Fabio Grosso, who I know well. This has no place in our society, it is completely unacceptable.”

These are situations that are simply unacceptable. My first thoughts are with Fabio Grosso, a coach I respect and have known for a long time.

I visited him as soon as I arrived at the stadium, I saw his condition and all my thoughts are with him, what is happening to him is unacceptable. It is unacceptable for a group of insensitive people to spoil a football party, with 65,000 fans that is completely unacceptable.

I am angry, I am upset by this situation, even if it happened outside the pitch, even if it happened on the public street, it has no place in football and in today’s society, we cannot accept it. We cannot accept such a situation.” Significantly, the president of Marseille said.
