Lyon – Montpellier 5: 2: The hunt for Europe continues
Lyon beat Montpellier 5-2 and kept what little hope they had of going to Europe in the new Ligue 1 season.
The match at “Grupama” was spectacular, as we have been used to from Lyon lately and found its winner “gon” with 5-2 on her Montpellier for the 34th game of Ligue 1.
Peter Bos’ players were stormy, against an opponent who didn’t get close to his defense and he also sought the goal. Musa Dembele opened the scoring in the 26th minute and Thiago Mendes, with the help of Jonas Omlin, made it 2-0 at the end of the first half. However, several minutes remained for the visitors to return, who equalized before the final whistle with Eli Wye and Tezi Savannier.
In the second half, however, it was only the hosts, who found the winning goals twice with Husem Avar and once with Carl Toko Ekabi, that kept them close to the teams currently in the European table.
