Marseille – Lyon 0: 3: Fire in the fight for European tickets
Lyon beat Marseille 3-0 in the “Velontrom” and handed over all the data for the European “tickets” for Ligue 1.
Marseille was able to secure much of the remaining space for the Champions League groups from Ligue 1. Instead they lost 0-3 from Lyon to “Velontrom” for the 35th game and now all European “tickets” are open in France except for Paris.
The game started with a wonderful atmosphere in the stands, but not with the same image on the field. Both teams’ defenses dominated and their attacks failed in both creation and execution.
In the 2nd half, the data did not improve much, but the “Gons” found a goal with Castelo Lukebas in the 55′ and set the game on fire. Jorge Sampaoli’s team increased possession rates even further, with Lyon preferring to score against.
In one such 76th minute, Malo Gusto took the cross from the right and Musa Dembele scored his 17th goal in the league with a close-range header. Two goals clear and clearly clearer than the hosts, Peter Boss’ team found another goal in Carl Toko Ekampi, clinched the ‘three points’ and now entered the battle for a place in Europe.
