Monaco 0-1 Lyon: They escaped the principality and left last place
Monaco pressured Lyon to score, but the Lions not only held on but ultimately won 1-0 thanks to a Geoffinho goal to move away from bottom of Ligue 1.
Monaco were in the lead for most of the game and had numerous chances to score, but Anthony Lopez came on when needed for Lyon, who secured the treble with a 1-0 final, in the game that sets the matchday 16 schedule opened. Ligue 1.
Zefinho scored the golden goal for the “Liones” in the 85th minute after an assist from Ensley Maitland-Niles. The most important chance for Adam Hooter’s men came in the 53rd minute when Mohamed Kamara’s shot rattled Anthony Lopez’s post.
With this result, Monaco remained in third place with 30 points. At the same time, Lyon, which won its second consecutive victory, left last place and climbed to 16th place and 13 points.
