Referring to questions from Le Parisien readers, Patrice Evra, Manchester United veteran, citing homosexuality, claiming that there are at least two footballers per team who have different sexual preferences and are hiding it.

In October 2021, Adelaide United footballer Josh Cavallo announced in a video that he is gay and that he was the first to play and speak publicly in a top professional football category.

Patrice Evra makes particular reference in his autobiography to the violence and sexual abuse he suffered at the age of 13. This time Evra answered questions from readers of the newspaper Le Parisien on the occasion of the publication of his book I Love this game in French on Tuesday (11.1).

Indeed, he brought up the issue of homosexuality, arguing that there are many footballers with different sexual preferences who are reluctant to admit it.

In particular, he argued that there are at least two players on every team who are gay: “When I was in England they brought a person to talk to the homosexual group. Some of my teammates said during this conversation, “It’s against my religion, there’s a gay guy in these dressing rooms. He has to leave the club, etc.”

At that moment I said, “Stop it. You understand.” To put it another way. “There are at least two players per club who are gay, but it’s over in the world of football.” characteristically reported to Le Parisien.
