Lille have reached an agreement in principle with Hatem Ben Arfa to close Youssef Yazici’s gap in their attack, French website RMC revealed on Friday night.

Hatem Ben Arfa is on the verge of returning to action after several months of abstinence, even sporting the shirt of a major French side.

As revealed by the RMC website, Lille have reached an agreement in principle with the 34-year-old midfielder to join her potential to take over the position of Yusuf Yazici in her attacking line and all that’s left is that to pass medical examinations which is expected to be submitted.

In fact, the French champions are investing in Ben Arfa’s quality to fill the void likely to be left by Yazici’s upcoming sale to CSKA Moscow at the weekend, as the former France international has been inactive for months as of last May, finally receiving his Cooperation with Bordeaux.

To be precise, the last game Ben Arfa attended was on May 2, when he played 30 minutes in a Girondins game against Rennes, with Ben Arfa – should the deal go through – having a useful opportunity ahead of him had reinvigorated his career after his poor recent seasons in Paris Saint-Germain, Rennes, Valladolid and Bordeaux.
