Ligue 1
Rennes 6-0 Bordeaux: unprecedented humiliation
Rehn sank Bordeaux further with a historic 6-0 win in Brittany for their 21st Ligue 1 game.
THAT reindeer came from three consecutive defeats in Ligue 1 and was an ideal opponent Bordeaux to restart their season. However, the game’s final whistle revealed his team was under pressure, Bruno Zenezio having scored a deafening goal 6-0, which sends him to 4th place and leaves the “Girondins” very low.
The score could have been higher if the hosts had been less talkative in the first half hour. Marten Terrier opened the scoring in the 32nd minute and Benjamin Bourigo scored before the end of the first half to complete Bordeaux’s destruction in the 50th minute, Isouf Sissoko being sent off.
Gaetan Lambord and Adrian Triffer increased the score in the next few minutes and in 77′ came Bordeaux’s response with their first final! In the delays, Seru Girasi’s two goals added dimensions of triumph to Rennes’ win.
