Ebape: ‘I support Milan, I spoke to Liverpool, my mother’s favorite team’
Killian Ebape was smothered by Real before renewing his contract with Paris. However, he revealed in an interview that he had also spoken to Liverpool about his mother, while also admitting his special bond with Milan.
For over a year, Real put incredible pressure on Killian Ebape to lure him into their squad, with the 23-year-old world champion still making the decision to stay in Paris and extend his contract with Paris until the summer of 2025.
However, the Merengues weren’t the only team he spoke to near the end of his contract. The Frenchman, in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, stressed that he has also been in talks with Liverpool for a while, a team that his mother loves.
“It’s not just Paris and Real. I’ve also spoken to Liverpool for a while because it’s my mother’s favorite club. I don’t know why he supports the Reds, you have to ask them.”
Besides the fun, it’s a great club. I met her five years ago when I was playing in Monaco. We talked very little back then, but in the end it was a choice between Paris and Real.
“Everyone knows that I wanted to go to Real last year because I thought it was the right choice.” Ebape emphasized, adding:
“I didn’t talk about money with Florentino Perez or Nasser Al Kelaifi. Only about football and titles. My mother and the lawyers talked about money.
“Of course I have money in my bank accounts and I look at them sometimes, but what matters to me is the playing field, winning trophies, being the best and being happy, something I am now.”
In the same interview, Ebape was asked about Milan on the occasion of the Rossoneri’s conquest of the 19th Scudetto and the fact that a childhood photo of him wearing his shirt went viral, saying:
“My bond with Milan is something special. My nanny was Italian and I spent a lot of time with her family who were all supportive of Milan.
Thanks to them I have seen many of their games and have become a fan of theirs. I said if I ever play in Italy it will only be for Milan. If I said anything else they would kill me…
“Seriously, I can only congratulate Milan, I have many French friends and Ibrahimovic, a legend I really respect.”
