The dire incidents at Zofrua Gissar after the Saint-Etienne-Auxerre final left at least 17 injured fans, 14 police officers as two visitors’ players suffered minor injuries.
The number of casualties after the incidents in Zofroua Gissar was high. St Etienne fans, after losing to Auxerre on penalties and relegation, stormed the pitch with smoke and flares, causing chaos.
According to French authorities, at least 17 fans were injured in the incidents, along with 14 police officers and two Auxerre players.
