Macron: ‘I advised Ebape to stay in France’

French President Emanuel Macron admitted in an interview that in a conversation with Killian Ebape he advised him to extend and stay in Paris Saint-Germain.

Killian Ebape decided to stay at Paris Saint-Germain and sign a new deal with the French champions, turning down Real’s offer.

It turns out the Macron government bore some responsibility for the French star’s decision, with the French president confirming what the 23-year-old backed.

Ebape had stated that his case had been taken to a political level, with Emanuel Macron and Nicolas Sarkozy advising him. In an interview, the French President admitted to speaking to him and advising him to stay in France.

“I assure you that I will not interfere in any transfer. I’m sporty like any citizen. I want to see a good game and support a team, in this case Marseille.”

I had a conversation with Killian Ebape just to advise him to stay in France. “The role of a president is to work for the good of his country.” Macron explained.
