Di Maria: ‘Messi will be better in the new season if Pochettino leaves’
Angel di Maria claimed after the potential departure of Mauricio Pochettino from Paris Saint-Germain that it would help Lionel Messi to be better in the new season.
Mauricio Pochettino is getting closer to leaving Paris Saint-Germain and all that remains is to announce the final decision.
Angel di Maria, who said goodbye to the Parisians at the end of the season, spoke to TyC Sports about the managerial change and claimed that Argentina coach Lionel Messi’s departure would help.
“It seems they want Pochettino to leave. There will be a very big change but I think Messi can handle it. That will help him to be much better next season.
“I think it will start very well because this year at the end he was offering goals, assisting, feeling very comfortable and adapting more and more,” Di Maria, who is in talks with Juventus, told TyC Sports.
“There are other players who will definitely leave. My case was the easiest because they didn’t have to renew me. On the one hand it hurt me, but on the other hand it didn’t.” I left in a very special way.
It was an unforgettable night for an Argentine to have such a farewell in another country, not everybody has. The love of the Paris fans behind the goal was the hardest thing I had to achieve.
“The fact that I go to the field, they sing just for me and do a mural for me are things that will stay in my memory forever”, he added.
