Ibrahimovic: ‘Ebape asked me and I told him to go to Real’
Zlatan Ibrahimovic revealed in an interview with Equipe that he encouraged Killian Ebape to sign for Real while referring to Paris Saint-Germain and stressing that he is proud to wear their shirt.
Killian Ebape is the footballer who has been linked like few in recent months with Real, who did everything for him in the summer transfer window but remains undeterred with Paris Saint-Germain.
However, the French star has entered the final stages of his contract with the Parisians and the Madrilenians have reportedly already prepared the 23-year-old’s deal, although he won’t be able to sign it until at least February.
In fact, in an interview with France team, Zlatan Ibrahimovic admitted that Ebape asked his opinion and urged him to join Madrid.
“Only Killian can answer whether he goes to Real. That depends on what you want and what you think. I would have gone. But if I were Paris, I would try to keep him. He will decide. Paris want him to keep.” , obviously, but he wants to stay?
I also think there are other clubs who want him: if you’re a coach, you have the means to sign him and you don’t want to take Ebape, you’re in the wrong job. He asked me, yes, and I said: “If I were you, I would go to Real.”
I had the opportunity to play in different teams, different countries and with different champions and that’s how I learned and grew. In my opinion it’s easier to play your whole career “at home”. “But when you pack your bags and go to other teams, it’s an adventure.” Mentioning Ebape, the Swedish star then stood up for the help he offered to Paris’s work:
“I helped Paris grow 100%. I worked on it every day. Paris wanted to reach the highest level, on and off the pitch, but there was a lot to do. I’m proud to say that I been there from the start to see where it is today.. It was fantastic”.
