Bordeaux was penalized with relegation to 3rd category
Bordeaux, who were relegated to Ligue 2 this year, have been penalized by the French authorities responsible for being relegated to the third category because of financial problems. The complaint is possible.
A black page in the history of Bordeaux seems to have been written on Tuesday (14/6). Specially the The DNCG (competent French authority) decided to penalize the Girondins with relegation to the third category because of the financial problems.
Bordeaux finished last in Ligue 1 this season with 31 points, falling to the second division. However, the testing authorities downgraded them even further.
The punishment is appealable and the administration has until next week to decide whether to proceed with the proceedings. Bordeaux’s debts are estimated at 40 million euros.
Buying Tsuameni from Real will bring the Girondins €11m due to the resale percentage being retained. At the same time, it will seek to proceed with other footballer sales to reverse the original decision and justify its financial viability.
