Lille’s new coach Fonseca
Paulo Fonseca will be at the helm of Lille from the new season, with the Portuguese coming to an agreement with the 2021 French champions and signing her on a two-year deal.
After Jocelyn Guvernek, who was at the helm last season, Lille found his replacement on the bench in Paulo Fonseca.
Both sides shook hands for days and only a few small things had to be clarified in order to find the golden ratio on Wednesday evening (June 29), when the Portuguese signed a cooperation agreement with the team from the north of France until 2024.
His official presentation to the press will take place on Thursday (6/30) and he will soon meet some of his new players, with the first meeting scheduled for July 1 in view of the start of the new season and the international has recorded a few days later.
It is recalled that Fonseca had been unemployed since the summer of 2021 when he divorced Roma and since then his name has been heard on several European teams including Tottenham, Newcastle and Monaco.
