Messi asked Xavi for mediation to return to Barcelona
According to Spanish broadcaster Chiringuito, Lionel Messi called Xavi to negotiate a potential Barcelona return.
Lionel Messi had a phone call with Xavi during which he negotiated and discussed his return to Barcelona with the Catalan boss.
Journalist Eduardo Ida revealed to Spanish show Chiringuito that the Argentine star was the one who called the Blaugrana coach and his former teammate and asked him to mediate in order to return to Barcelona.
However, the Catalan explained that he had to speak to the club’s president Juan Laporta first. So far, however, the Barcelona strongman hasn’t called the Argentine.
Messi left the Catalans last summer and signed for Paris Saint-Germain. His contract with the Parisians runs until the summer of 2023, with the possibility of an extension for another year.
