Clermont – Paris 0-5: Comfortable and beautiful with a show from Neymar and a scissor goal from Messi
Paris demonstrated their strength at home against Clermont as Christophe Gaultier’s side beat the newcomers 5-0, with Messi (2 goals) and Neymar (1 goal and 3 assists) as the main protagonists.
Paris are chasing their historic 11th championship this season which will leave them alone at the top of the champions list (they currently have 10, as do Marseille and St Etienne) and on Saturday night (6/8) they sent a clear message all the points that she has the first and last word in the battle for the Ligue 1 title.
Shining protagonists of the Parisians were Neymar, who made sure that the absence of Kylian Mbappe (injured) in the scrimmage was not in the least visible, opened the goal and scored a hat-trick with an assist, and Lionel Messi with Pulga scored two Goals, the second of which was a spell (a chest save and a back scissor in freshman year).
The match
Clermont was called up as a new signing against champions Paris and it was extremely difficult for them on Saturday night as the duo of Neymar and Messi in demonic form conceded five goals for the hosts.
The start of the Parisian show was given in the 9th minute when Sarabia veered from the left and Messi touched the ball but didn’t have time to control it to follow the phase as a follower to Neymar and write the 1-0 with one dry diagonal shot from the height of the large area.
In the 18th minute, Vitinia came close to scoring the second goal, which finally came in the 26th minute when Neymar produced a great vertical ball and Hakimi made an insane rush to break into the Clermont box and the opposing keeper with an elusive one Shot on goal to bring sky of the nets.
It was followed by two difficult saves from goalkeeper Diao on a Ramos header and a shot from Mendes to land in the 39th minute and a third goal for the unstoppable Paris, with the execution of a foul by Neymar and his compatriot’s elusive header Marquinhos.
The pace slowed noticeably in the second half, with Paris maintaining control and upping the ante again in the last quarter to offer the crowd two more goals with a masterful delivery from Lionel Messi.
In the 80s, the Argentinian superstar combined perfectly with Neymar and, with a flawless placement in the penalty area, scored the 4-0 for Paris and opened the scoring tally in this year’s Ligue 1 to reach the 86’s stage that everyone has yet to bow to once in his footballing greatness.
Pulga made a vertical move into the heart of the Clermont defense and hit Parede’s through ball with his back to goal, only for fantastic chest control and grabbing an unimaginable first-time backscissor that left the opposing keeper stunned.
The 5-0 that ended Paris’ magical night was a fact, as was the first scissor goal of Lionel Messi’s immense career.
