The ‘penalty goal’ worsened the relationship between Neymar and Mbappe
The dispute between Neymar and Mbappe over the execution of the second penalty against Montpellier has set Paris Saint-Germain on fire, with the staff (technical, administrative) looking for a solution for the two footballers’ coexistence in the dressing room.
Paris Saint-Germain have started the new season in Ligue 1 with two top-five finishes, but that doesn’t seem to be enough to lighten the mood in the dressing room. It’s no longer a secret that Neymar and Mbappe’s relationship, if not borderline, is certainly at a frozen point.
The French superstar had an unimaginable reaction when Vitinia failed to pass the ball to him in a counterattack against Montpellier, while a similar thing happened to ‘Ney’ when the Brazilian tried to take the second penalty won by Paris.
Just before putting the ball on target, Mbappe approached him to take that shot and Neymar was annoyed with his decision. Mbappe had previously missed the same spot.
The new penalty rivalry and Cold War atmosphere between the two footballers has already made a name for itself. It is the penalty goal that will inevitably occupy both the technical leadership of Paris (Galtier) and management (Kambos, Kelaifi) in the next period.
After all, there were reports that wanted Mbappe to propose to Paris managers to remove Neymar from the team, which journalist Romain Molina also mentioned in his post, to add fuel to the fire.
