Zidane turned down Paris because of Leonardo
Paris Saint-Germain wanted Zinedine Zidane to succeed Mauricio Pochettino in the winter but the Frenchman turned down the Parisians’ offer due to their sporting director Leonardo and the team’s internal workings.
Mauricio Pochettino was recently interrogated in Paris Saint-Germain, with French reports even mentioning that the French club’s management have already informed him that he will leave the team’s bench at the end of the season.
One of the big favorites to succeed him is Zinedine Zidane, who the Parisians have been trying to persuade since the winter. However, according to the French capital’s Parisien newspaper, the French manager rejected the Parisian club’s proposal for two reasons.
The first was related to the team’s internal operations and mainly how to deal with sporting director Leonardo, who the 49-year-old disagrees with and feels are not a good fit for him, while the second reason that prompted Zidane to do so was the proposal to refuse was the current technical staff.
