A stadium in Senegal is named after Manet
In Senegal, they are sailing in such a sea of joy by conquering the Copa Africa that they will be naming a stadium under construction in his native city after him.
Senegal won the Copa Africa for the first time in their history and the performances of Ali Cisse’s team, led by Santos Mane, will be remembered forever.
So much so that the Liverpool midfielder’s compatriots decided to name a stadium under construction in his native Senegal after him to honor his contribution to winning the trophy.
The mayor of the area, Abdullahi Diop, the man who made the decision to rename the stadium, said among other things that Mane deserves this honor: “The Manet honored Senegal and the city of Sentio. By deciding to give the city stadium its name, I want to affirm the recognition of all our citizens before the face of a man who is making the city known throughout the world. Manet deserves this gift“.
