Jurgen Klopp will be among the nominees for Britain’s forthcoming LOATKI+ Awards, to be presented in June 2022, for his condemnation of the homophobic slogan shouted by Liverpool fans in Gilmour, Norwich.

Jurgen Klopp has long been outspoken about the LGBTQI+ community and their rights and earlier this season took action to show his support when he linked the homophobic slogan being shouted by Liverpool fans in the middle of Liverpool condemned the Premier League premiere.

“This slogan is not pretty and it is not used. Even friends of our team are uncomfortable.

For our fans and me it means: Enough, let’s say one more song”. he had said a few months ago at a meeting with organized Red supporters, the words embodying his principles and beliefs and not going unnoticed at all.

In the most official way, that was realized a few months later when the German accepted the title of Ally of the Year from among a select list of candidates – including Formula 1 superstar Lewis Hamilton and actor Daniel Radcliffe (the Harry Potter actor) – for the upcoming British LOATKI + Awards to be presented in London on 24 June 2022.

This award was most recently presented to pop icon and former Spice Girl member Melanie C, although it’s worth noting that Lady Gaga, Alan Carr and Ollie Alexander are among the nominees for awards in other categories.
